In 2001 the Tranny Fest theme will be "Gender Armageddon!
-This is the future!" Tranny Fest week celebrates the
sweet complexities of the Transgender experience. We will
feature a variety of performances, panel discussions, parties
and the week will climax in a glamorous explosion we call
The Transgender and Transgenre Cinema Film Festival. We
will show a "finger-snappin, groin-bumping, tear-jerking,
heartwarming, gut-bustin" mix of over 23 experimental,
documentary, drama and pornographic films! Sci-fi fans,
as well as Trans and their Fans, will have the opportunity
to participate in our fabulous Multi-Galaxy Costume Contest
emceed by the beautiful Empress Alexis Miranda. Tranny Fest
proudly boasts a diverse mixture and array of cultures in
all our programming. We have as many genres as we do genders.
Guests are encouraged to come to all Tranny Week events
dressed in our Science fiction futuristic theme: GENDER
ARMAGEDDON - THIS IS THE FUTURE!

Fest 2001 Film Festival's Tranny Week kick off event and
reception: Panel discussion titled: "SCIENCE FICTION:
THE SCIENCE-VS-FICTION of the Transgender Experience - Trans:
Law, Health and the future of Media." We'll talk about
current legal rights, medical health care and the future,
focusing on creating your own SPACE and gender dimensions
in the world of media. Reception to follow panel. Panelist
include:
SHANNON
MINTNER, Senior Staff Attorney at the National Center for
Lesbian Rights. Information on Transgender Law and legal
issues.
ANA MALDONADO, Primary Care Clinician at Lyon-Martin Women's
Health Services, serving Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgender
and questioning women in the Bay Area.
MACHIKO SAITO, Filmmaker, Producer and Director of the video
"Pink Eye," screening at this year's Festival.
LORI KOHLER, M.S., Medical Director, Gold Team Family Health
Center at San Francisco General Hospital.

Fest Party with the "highlight focus" on lesbian-identified
transwomen. Everyone is welcome! Come join stars, filmmakers

Lexington club is the official "Tranny Fest Watering
Hole" for the week of the festival. Please feel free
to stop in, relax, and meet up with friends.
